Lucas Biglia is confident that new club Lazio will aid his bid to win a place in Argentina’s World Cup squad next year.
The 27-year-old, an international midfielder, is on the verge of joining the capital side from Belgian outfit Anderlecht.
“I’m ready to prove my worth,” Biglia, who is soon expected to complete his transfer, told Voetbalkrant. “Lazio are the perfect club for me.
“I won everything while in Belgium and so I therefore think it is normal for me to move to a more competitive championship.
“By playing in Italy I will have even more of a chance to earn my place in the national squad for next year’s World Cup.”
