Palermo have admitted they are disappointed Fiorentina decided against signing Emiliano Viviano on a permanent basis.
The Viola-supporting goalkeeper joined the Viola last summer, but the Tuscans are planning for a future without him.
“We expected Fiorentina to take up their option,” Rosanero director Giorgio Perinetti noted. “But this did not happen.
“There are a number of teams who are interested in him now so we will just have to wait and see what happens.”
Palermo, relegated to Serie B in the past campaign, agreed a €7.5m buy-out fee with Fiorentina last summer.
The former Brescia, Bologna and Inter player appeared in 32 League games for the Tuscan giants in 2012-13.
The 27-year-old is an Italian international.
