Milan’s Saponara: My best role is…

Riccardo Saponara says he’s ready to pull the strings behind two strikers at Milan next season.

The Italian Under-21 international will join the Rossoneri for 2013-14 after the Diavolo bought a half share in him from Empoli in January.

“I was happy in the trequartista role which I was used in at Empoli,” the 21-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

“I think that could be the role where I can deliver the most. Saying that, I’m ready to be used in any position.

“I am at the total disposal of the club and I want to grow with the utmost humility.

“I did struggle with consistency in the past, but I improved under that aspect in the last campaign which saw me earn the attention of the Rossoneri.”

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri is expected to revert back to the 4-3-1-2 system at San Siro next term at the request of owner Silvio Berlusconi.

Saponara is formerly of Ravenna.
