Matias Silvestre could ruin the Antonio Cassano-Ishak Belfodil deal by refusing to join Parma. “He’d prefer to convince Inter.”

The transfer is practically agreed between the two clubs, as Inter would hand over €10m cash plus the loans with options to buy of Cassano and Silvestre in exchange for Belfodil.

However, former Palermo defender Silvestre is holding up the entire situation by refusing to join Parma.

“There are no negotiations at the moment and I’ll only arrive in Italy next week to discuss it with the club,” agent Fernando Cosentino told Parma Today.

“Silvestre is an Inter player and he wants to stay at San Siro so that he can convince Walter Mazzarri.”

Inter did not actually want to sign Silvestre on a permanent basis after his loan spell, but Palermo pointed out the €6m option to buy was a mandatory one and refused to renegotiate.

The 28-year-old Argentine made only 20 total appearances for the Nerazzurri this term between Serie A, the Europa League and Coppa Italia.
