Italy train behind closed doors

Italy held their first training sessions behind closed doors today, as they prepare for the Confederations Cup semi-final against Spain.

So far in Brazil the Azzurri have invited fans and media to watch all of their training and games between ranks.

However, today Coach Cesare Prandelli put his squad through two sessions and both of them were behind closed doors.

The media were only allowed to stay in the stands in Fortaleza for 15 minutes in the afternoon.

He hopes to keep his tactical transformation – forced by injuries to Mario Balotelli and Ignazio Abate – under wraps ahead of Thursday’s semi-final.

The match kicks off at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).
