Sergio Almiron will not be on the move this summer after the midfielder signed a new contract at Catania.
The 32-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire next year, but he’s now put pen to paper on fresh terms until 2014.
The Argentine, formerly of Juventus and Empoli, featured in 30 League games for the Sicilian outfit last term.
He moved to Catania in 2011 from the Old Lady after spells on loan at Monaco, Fiorentina and Bari.
Almiron was being paired with a possible move to Torino.
