Inter President Massimo Moratti confirms he’ll meet Erick Thohir next week, but “we are a long way off completing the deal.”

The Indonesian magnate is set to fly in to Italy over the next few days to snap up 40 per cent of the club shares for a reported €150m.

“You seem to all assume it’s done with Thohir and take the successful conclusion for granted,” Moratti told Sky Sport Italia this afternoon.

“As a good fan I too believe it can happen, but very little of what I read in the papers is true. I think there will be more meetings over the next week, but we are still a long way off completing the deal.”
When asked if Thohir’s investment would ensure players like Samir Handanovic and Fredy Guarin are off the market, Moratti insisted “transfer strategy has nothing to do with all of this.”

Inter have been pushing for Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan, but face strong competition from Roma for the €15m-rated Belgian international.

“I don’t know if Inter are in front for Nainggolan. For the moment we are watching and waiting, so there is no battle with Roma.”
