Reports in the Italian Press on Sunday claimed that the Cagliari” data-scaytid=”30″>Cagliari midfielder had agreed personal terms with the capital club. However, the two clubs are yet to concur on a price for the Belgian.

And the Rome-based newspaper believes that sporting director Walter Sabatini has already sounded out Lille's Rio Mavuba, Etienne Capoue of Toulouse and Guingamp's Gilbert Imbula as their plan B.

France international Mavuba has been a mainstay of the Lille side for five years and could be available for around €8m.

24-year-old Capoue enjoyed a superb 2012/13, scoring seven goals in 34 games, and is worth around €14m.

Imbula meanwhile is only 20-year-old, but is already a first-team regular for Guingamp in Ligue 2. He is valued at €3m.
