Uruguay Coach Oscar Tabarez has praised Cesare Prandelli after Italy beat the South American champions in the Confederations Cup.
Having drawn 2-2 in normal time, the Azzurri eventually prevailed as 3-2 winners in the third-place play-off penalty shoot-out on Sunday.
And the 66-year-old was full of congratulations for his opposite number, as well as Gianluigi Buffon.
“It was a match worthy of this competition,” he told reporters. “Both us and Italy have shown we could have been in the final.
“Buffon is a great goalkeeper, but the reason for this Italian renaissance is Prandelli.
“Your football will remain at the top of the world.”
