“We heard from [Roma sporting director] Walter Sabatini every day last week,” Paulo Affonso told forzaroma.info.
“But then the calls stopped on Monday.
“The negotiation with Napoli is not yet completed, but we are at a good point.
“They are talking with Santos, and when that develops they will come to us.
“The reality is though, at the moment, Rafael is a Santos player.”
