Benitez: 'Napoli like Liverpool'

Rafa Benitez explains why he chose Napoli. “There is such enthusiasm and passion. The club reminds me of Liverpool.”

The Coach replaced Walter Mazzarri this summer and is attempting a second Serie A spell after his six months at Inter in 2010.

“I accepted Napoli because there is such enthusiasm and passion. I want to repay that faith on the field,” he told Minuto 116.

“The club has quality players and hunger to win, so reminds me of Liverpool.”

Benitez was fresh from a role as caretaker manager at Chelsea, where he won the Europa League but not many of the fans.

“In La Liga it’s difficult to stop Real Madrid and Barcelona, as nobody else has their economic power. The Premier League has a higher tempo compared to the Spanish game.

“Could I be the manager of Spain? I hope Vicente Del Bosque can be on the bench for a long time, but in future who knows? Maybe I could do it too...”
