Milan: Ljajic or Lavezzi?

As Robinho closes on Santos, Milan target Fiorentina’s Adem Ljajic or PSG man Ezequiel Lavezzi and Cristian Zaccardo complains.

The Rossoneri have made it clear they will buy another forward if Robinho finally completes his transfer to Santos, having lowered their €10m price-tag to €8.5m in order to push the move through.

Time is of the essence, as the Brazilian transfer window closes in nine days.

At first Stevan Jovetic had emerged as the prime target to replace him, but the €30m cost is simply too much for Milan’s new transfer strategy.

His Fiorentina teammate Ljajic, on the other hand, is in the middle of tense contract renegotiations as his deal expires in June 2014. A crunch meeting with Viola directors is due on Monday.

The 21-year-old Serbian secondary striker would fit the tactical set-up under Massimiliano Allegri and continue Milan’s path of lowering the average age of the squad.

However, Tuttosport have suggested an intriguing proposition, as the Rossoneri could also be tracking Lavezzi.

The former Napoli star is in the balance at PSG if the club brings in Edinson Cavani for €63m and could seek more playing time elsewhere.

There is an issue of the price-tag, as Paris Saint-Germain paid €26m to buy him from Napoli only a year ago, so Milan hope for a loan with option to buy.

Meanwhile, a player already at San Siro is asking to leave after playing only 45 minutes of football since joining from Parma in January.

“I want to fight in order to earn my place, but the club also has to tell me if I am of any use here,” defender Zaccardo told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Milan are a remarkable club, so organised and ensure the players want for nothing. I want to be part of the project, but I have never spoken to Allegri. Perhaps at a certain point I should stepped forward and done it. Instead I suffered in silence.”
