The Colombian midfielder has been speculated as on his way out of San Siro, with Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Anzhi and Napoli all paired in recent months with making a move.

However, in conversation with reporters at preseason training yesterday, the 27-year-old explained whose shirt he sees himself playing in next season.

“Inter’s. I’ve always seen myself with Inter,” Guarin reflected.

“From the moment I arrived I’ve only been focused on doing my best in this shirt.

“This isn’t the time to think about other teams.

“Right now I’m only thinking about Inter and having a good season with my teammates.”

Guarin was asked for reflection on Mazzarri’s impact in training so far.

“He’s a Coach who has always worked his players hard and I don’t think he should change. We hope to quickly get used to his work methods and to do it as well as we can because we really need it.

“My first impressions of Mazzarri? Intensity, hard work and a strong team ethic.”
