Kevin Strootman has expressed his delight after virtually completing his move from PSV Eindhoven to Roma.
The midfielder landed in the Italian capital last night after a transfer fee, reportedly €17m, was agreed between the two clubs.
“I’m really happy,” the 23-year-old commented. “I’m finally here and I’m a Roma player at last. The negotiations did go on for a while, but everything was finally resolved positively.”
Strootman is a Holland international who joined PSV in June 2011 from fellow Dutch club FC Utrecht.
The player will undergo his medical this morning before joining up with his new teammates for pre-season training.
