Serie B side Empoli have cooled suggestions that they have agreed to sell Elseid Hysaj to Lazio.
Reports this morning claimed that the 19-year-old left-back was heading to the Italian capital in a €3m transfer.
“We’ve had a few conversations with Lazio with regard to Elseid Hysaj,” Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi told Roma Today.
“The last time was about two or three weeks ago when we met with Lazio chief Claudio Lotito. Unfortunately, though, the deal remains blocked.”
Hysaj, born in Albania, moved to Italy as a 14-year-old when he caught the eye of Empoli’s youth system Coaches.
