Cagliari President Massimo Cellino still holds a grudge against Roma. “I hope Radja Nainggolan won’t join them.”

The two clubs had a huge row last season when the Giallorossi refused to play at the Is Arenas after it had failed security checks, so were awarded a 3-0 victory.

“I hope Nainggolan won’t join Roma,” snapped Cellino on Sky Sport Italia.

“They did something of a low moral level that was against sport when they took that 3-0 win.”

Roma are in the race for Nainggolan along with Inter, Napoli and Southampton.

The Is Arenas was torn down this week, as it was ruled to be an unsafe structure built using the wrong permits. Because of the scandal, Cellino was arrested and held in custody for several weeks.

“I still can’t think about the arrest, as my mind is reeling. I am still waiting to understand why all this happened and until I get that explanation I won’t have a moment’s peace.

“Cagliari won three games in a row while I was in prison, so perhaps if I’d stayed another five months then we would’ve won the Scudetto.”
