One of Marek Hamsik’s former Coaches expects him to thrive in front of goal with Rafael Benitez now in charge of Napoli.
The attacking midfielder regularly found the net for previous boss Walter Mazzarri, but Mario Somma thinks he can ripple the net with even more consistency.
“Marek will probably be more decisive in terms of goals next season,” Somma, who bossed him at Brescia in 2006-07, told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“He may not be as involved when it comes to developing the play and winning the ball back, but when it comes to scoring he could deliver even more in Benitez’s system.”
The Slovakian international scored 12 goals in 38 League games last season.
Hamsik has celebrated 62 Serie A goals for the Azzurri in his six campaigns at the Stadio San Paolo.
