New Fiorentina signing Oleksandr Iakovenko has insisted that he will fight for a place in the Viola's starting XI next season.
The Ukranian midfielder joined the Stadio Artemio Franchi side from Anderlecht this summer, and the 26-year-old has admitted that it was a dream to sign for Vincenzo Montella's men.
“It is a great club with some great attackers,” he told reporters. “I came here because I have always wanted to.
“My goal is to carve out a place in the team.
“In my career I have always played in midfield, but I would really like to play in attack.
“It will be up to the Coach where I play though.”
