Serie A fixtures to be released

The fixtures for the 2013-14 Serie A season will finally be drawn up this evening.

The draw will be an open one given that there are no top seeds, however, there are certain restrictions.

None of the five Serie A derbies will be permitted to take place in midweek rounds. The same constraint will apply to big matches involving Inter, Juventus, Milan, Napoli and Roma.

The derby games will also not be allowed to take place in Week 1 or Week 38. There can be no more than one derby game in one particular round.

No fixture can take place on the same week number that it did over the last two campaigns.

Champions League sides can’t take on Europa League teams after a Europa League round or before a Champions League round.

Juventus, Milan, Roma, Genoa and Chievo will start the season with away games. Torino, Inter, Lazio, Sampdoria and Verona will be at home in Week 1.
