The Brazilian international is available for transfer after QPR were relegated from the Premiership at the end of last season.

After previous links with Roma and Napoli, the former Inter man was reportedly set for a switch to Tuscany.

“I’ve never contacted QPR for Julio Cesar or his agent,” Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade told Sky Sport Italia. “I therefore deny the stories in the newspapers.”

The former Roma official was said to have already agreed a €3m fee with the London club for the South American.

All that was supposedly left to do was reach a compromise with the almost 34-year-old over personal terms.
