Sampdoria: 'No more buys'

Sampdoria warn fans they have “completed the squad” on the transfer market and must now focus on sales.

Director of sport Carlo Osti spoke to TMW about reports they’re making an approach for Juventus wing-back Paolo De Ceglie.

“No, we have completed the squad when it comes to incoming players. Now we must look to exits, as we have to whittle down the side.

“We will only sell those players who are not part of the project, such as Enzo Maresca, Simon Poulsen and Juan Antonio.”

Maresca was meant to be one of their top players, but managed only 16 Serie A appearances in 2012-13.

“It was the choice of the Coach. Maresca is not part of our tactical plans.”
