Serie A new boys Sassuolo have confirmed an interest in Juventus-owned full-back Reto Ziegler.
“We like Ziegler,” sporting director Nereo Bonato noted. “We are looking to add a left-sided player to the squad.
“The Swiss could be the right man to bring in, but our problem is that his salary is too high for us.”
The former Sampdoria defender earns €1.5m a season in Turin.
He was signed by the Old Lady on a free transfer in 2011, yet he has never played an official game for the Turin side.
He has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Fenerbahce and Lokomotiv Moscow. Torino have also been linked with the 27-year-old.
Juve could reportedly send him on loan to Sassuolo, paying a part of his salary in order to make the move happen.
