Benfica have touched down in Rome to open negotiations for Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, claims Sky Sport Italia.
Benfica sporting director Manuel Rui Costa, a former midfielder for Fiorentina and Milan, is in the Italian capital for talks with Roma.
Osvaldo, an Italian international, is understood to be available for transfer this summer with Inter and Southampton particularly keen.
The Portuguese giants may struggle to strike a deal given that their best wage offer would be €1.8m a season and Osvaldo would allegedly like more seeing as he presently earns €2m per campaign.
It’s also unclear whether the centre-forward would consider the Lisbon club as a suitable destination for his career.
