Giuseppe Bellusci will soon put pen to paper on a new contract with Catania, reports Sky Sport Italia.
The defender, a centre-back who can be used as a right-back, is presently only tied to the Sicilian side until June 2014.
The stopper, though, has been in talks with the Stadio Massimino outfit and a renewal until June 2016 is understood to have been agreed.
The 23-year-old, a former Italian Under-21 international, joined Catania in 2009 from Ascoli. He appeared in 26 League games last season.
