Massimiliano Allegri has admitted that Milan’s Champions League game against PSV is ‘critical’ to their season.

The Rossoneri face the Dutch side in the preliminary round of the competition tomorrow, and the Coach has conceded that the match is vital.

“Beating PSV is critical to the rest of our season,” he told a Press conference.

“We must do everything possible to be in the next round of the Champions League.

“And I think my boys can succeed.

“I believe by October we’ll have a better idea of how we’re doing. For now we just have to focus on the upcoming games.

“We want to start well in the League against Verona.

Juventus will be the favourites for the title, and I think their win over Lazio showed that.”

The tactician then commented on the fitness and form of Mario Balotelli.

“Mario is feeling good – he is an extraordinary player. It will be an important test for him playing in his first Champions League game with us.

“He won’t be in top condition, but he has some extraordinary qualities.”
