Rodrigo Palacio is confident Inter “are in the Scudetto race too” despite finishing ninth last term.
The striker spoke to Sky Sport Italia after a 4-0 Coppa Italia victory over 10-man Cittadella at San Siro.
“We are in the Scudetto race too,” insisted the Argentine, nicknamed La Trenza for his long plait.
“I know it is difficult, as there are many great teams, but we have to take it one game at a time.
“I like the way Walter Mazzarri trains the squad, as he works hard and has very clear ideas on his football.”
Palacio is the most experienced striker while Diego Milito recovers from injury, paired with youngsters Ishak Belfodil and Mauro Icardi.
“I have to do well, as I did last season. Perhaps I will play in a slightly deeper role, but I am focused only on helping the team and giving my all.
“Besides, then there will be Milito. We are all waiting for Diego, as he is a player who always makes the difference.
“The Coach has many options in attack, as Icardi and Belfodil are also impressive.”
