Torino charge for Maresca

Torino are said to be interested in signing Enzo Maresca – a player who infuriated Granata fans back in a February 2002 Turin derby.

The 33-year-old has been made available for transfer by Sampdoria and the Gazzetta dello Sport claims Torino are a possible destination.

Maresca, who only joined Samp from Malaga last summer, famously netted for Juventus against Toro in a 2-2 draw at the Delle Alpi over a decade ago.

But it wasn’t the goal that annoyed Torino supporters, it was the fact that he mimicked the bull goal celebration of Toro’s Marco Ferrante.

The midfielder has had a varied career given that he has played for clubs such as West Brom, Bologna, Fiorentina, Sevilla and Olympiacos.
