Milan’s Kevin-Prince Boateng has officially come out of international retirement to play for Ghana.
The midfielder had opted out of international football in June 2011 in order to focus on his club career.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome your decision to return to action to the national team of Ghana, the Black Stars,” read an open letter sent to Boateng from General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association Emmanuel Gyimah.
“Your decision to return to action for Ghana will surely re-energise the Black Stars for our future challenges.
“We are confident that you will work hard in the team to ensure the continuous progress of our beloved national team of Ghana, the Black Stars.”
