Rossi saw 'right Samp spirit'

Delio Rossi insists he saw “the right spirit” despite Sampdoria’s slender defeat to Juventus.

“We had prepared the game well and allowed very little to what was objectively a stronger team,” said the Coach of the 1-0 home loss.

“They played a great move and with that goal won the game, but I saw the right spirit from my men. Unfortunately we paid the price for those incidents that went against us.

“We made a mistake on their goal, as the players down the left did not close the space, but it was a collective error rather than an individual one.”

The Blucerchiati did not have a single effort on goal for the first hour and barely troubled Gigi Buffon. Has Mauro Icardi been suitably replaced this summer?

“We signed some young players who will do well for our objectives. We cannot afford a player like Carlos Tevez...”
