Sassuolo can't wait for Serie A debut

Sassuolo play their first ever Serie A game tonight against Torino and Coach Eusebio Di Francesco can’t wait.

The tiny club had never previously set foot in the top flight, but won the Serie B title last season and could be a real surprise package.

They visit Torino at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), click here for a match preview of this historic occasion.

“We created this opportunity for ourselves with a great campaign, so more than worry we are eager to prove we’re good enough to be at this level,” said Di Francesco.

“I hope we can quickly shake off any tension for the debut. The new arrivals are at our disposal and can therefore play from the start. I decide my line-up and communicate it to the players just 90 minutes before the game. I’m good at creating surprises.”

Sassuolo must do without the injured Carl Valeri, while Domenico Berardi, Luca Antei, Alessandro Longhi and Lino Marzorati are all suspended.

As for their opponents, Di Francesco believes Italy international Alessio Cerci is not the main danger man.

“The player who is best at attacking space and getting goals is Ciro Immobile, even if Cerci has great quality and can light up a match from one moment to the next.”

Sassuolo squad for Torino: Perilli, Pomini, Rosati, Acerbi, Bianco, Gazzola, Laverone, Rossini, Terranova, Ziegler, Alhassan, Bianchi, Chibsah, Kurtic, Laribi, Magnanelli, Missiroli, Alexe, Farias, Lodesani, Masucci, Pavoletti, Zaza
