Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella has ruled out the acquisition of a new goalkeeper before the transfer window closes.

The Viola were expected to swoop for a custodian after opting against making Emiliano Viviano’s loan move from Palermo permanent in June.

However, after links with numerous shot-stoppers over the summer, Montella seems ready to keep faith with previous back-up Norbeto Neto.

“We are fine as we are,” the tactician stated after the Brazilian featured in the 2-1 win over Catania on Monday.

“We want to back Neto and we are not worried about that role in the side, not in the slightest. We also have Gustavo Munua who has been a first-choice all of his career.”

Neto, 24, appeared in six Serie A games last term. The 35-year-old Munua, meanwhile, was signed this summer after his contract at Levante expired.
