Inter winger Ezequiel Schelotto confirmed he’ll undergo a medical with Sassuolo tomorrow. “I want to have a great year.”

The Italy international born in Argentina only arrived from Atalanta in January, but was left behind for Inter’s pre-season tour of the US.

“Sassuolo behaved well with me and with Inter, so tomorrow I will have a medical,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

The deal is a loan with option to buy half his contract at the end of the season.

“I want to have a great year, although it will be different to Inter. I want to play, that is what I want. Not being part of pre-season training with Inter was a tough moment for me.

“My agents and my family stayed close to me, but this is another step and nobody knows what football can hold. I am happy now.”

His only highlight in a Nerazzurri jersey was to score a decisive late goal in the Derby di Milano.

“The memory of the derby is certainly important for me and I got a tattoo of it. Ricky Alvarez told me straight away to get a tattoo and I did it.

“The fans have always been good to me. Every now and then they got angry, but that’s because things were not going well.

“I have to thank Andrea Stramaccioni. With him I played and I scored in the derby. I also thanked Walter Mazzarri, as he gave me the opportunity to train and we’ll see each other in a month’s time in Serie A.”
