Mario Balotelli said Milan “killed” PSV Eindhoven with a 3-0 victory in the Champions League play-off.

“In Holland we played a good game and were unlucky to draw. Here in Milan we proved that we deserved it, as we killed them,” he told Sport Mediaset.

The Rossoneri go through to the competition proper 4-1 on aggregate after Balotelli and a Kevin-Prince Boateng brace sealed the result at San Siro.

The performance was a world away from their 2-1 defeat to newly-promoted Hellas Verona on Saturday.

“In Verona it was just a bad match, but these things happen. It’s better to play the first game of the season badly rather than the last.

“Of course it’s normal I want to win the Scudetto and the Champions League, but the important thing is to take it one game at a time.”

The interviewer asked if Balotelli wanted to dedicate this qualification to President Silvio Berlusconi, but he opted to honour his agent instead.

“I apologise to the President, but I’m dedicating this one to Mino Raiola!”

This week Raiola stated Balotelli and Paul Pogba were “worth at least twice as much as Gareth Bale.”
