Celtic manager Neil Lennon admits facing Milan, Barcelona and Ajax is both “the best and worst draw we could’ve got.”
The Scottish champions scraped through the play-offs 3-2 on aggregate against Shakhter and were put into Group H.
“It’s the best and the worst draw we could’ve got,” he told Sky Sports News.
“In terms of glamour I don’t think it comes any better than Barcelona and AC Milan. In terms of football it’s probably the most difficult draw we could’ve got.
“There’s a lot of excitement, the hard work was really done last night and we can go and enjoy this tournament now.
“In terms of travelling for the supporters they are three great footballing arenas and three great clubs with pedigree in the competition. We’re looking forward to three more great nights at least at Celtic Park.
“From a football point of view it’ll be hugely difficult to get through the group.”
Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani had told Mediaset Premium last night that “with our luck we’ll pick Barcelona, Manchester City and Celtic!” He got two out of three right, as Ajax replaced the English side.
Bojan Krkic has played for both Barcelona and Milan, but will now face them with Ajax in Group H.
“Destiny is incredible. I love the Champions League!” he wrote on Twitter.
