Thiago Motta is back in the Italy squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.
The PSG midfielder returns for the first time since the Euro 2012 Final, while Manolo Gabbiadini gets his first senior call from the Under-21 side.
He joins fellow Azzurrini Marco Verratti, Lorenzo Insigne and Alessandro Florenzi.
Andrea Barzagli is included despite suffering from a foot tendon problem against Lazio on Saturday.
Riccardo Montolivo, Dani Osvaldo and Mario Balotelli are all suspended for Friday’s game with Bulgaria, so won’t join the training camp until Wednesday.
The other qualifier is in Turin against the Czech Republic on Tuesday September 10.
