Alberto Gilardino says he is delighted to have remained at Genoa after his deadline day move to Juventus collapsed.
The Italian international looked like he would be heading to Turin to replace Roma-bound Fabio Quagliarella. The latter would have then released Marco Borriello to cover Gila at Genoa.
However, reaching an agreement that satisfied all parties proved impossible before the transfer window shut last night.
“I’m very happy to have remained at Genoa,” the 31-year-old said on Twitter. “I will give my all for this shirt.”
Gilardino has returned to Marassi this summer after a successful loan spell at Bologna where he scored 13 goals in 36 League games last term.
