Fiorentina’s strike pairing of Mario Gomez and Giuseppe Rossi is the best in Serie A, says Emiliano Mondonico.
“Fiorentina did really well on the transfer market,” the 66-year-old former Viola boss told TMW on Friday.
“Gomez may not end up as the Capocannoniere, but the Gomez-Rossi partnership is the best matched in the whole championship.
“I’m sure that they will be the most prolific pairing by the time the season ends.”
The German international was signed from Bayern Munich in the summer for an initial €15.5m, while Rossi was netted in January from Villarreal.
Gomez has two goals in Serie A so far this term, while Rossi has three.
“Now Fiorentina need to target something important,” Mondonico added. “After last term’s fourth place, they now need to finish in the top three.”
