Roma striker Gervinho has blamed Arsene Wenger for his failure at Arsenal. “I wasn’t happy” with the position on the wing.
The forward arrived from Lille for £10.8m in 2011, but after nine League goals in two seasons he reunited with his old Lille boss Rudi Garcia in Rome.
“I was not getting much time on the pitch and was in need of this time to improve and play my best football,” the Ivory Coast international told SunSport.
“Wenger was not prepared to give it to me. Also my position on the wing was not what I was expecting and I wasn’t happy with it.
“It would have helped had he shown more confidence in me.”
