The Gazzetta dello Sport believes Italy will line-up with a 3-4-2-1 system in tonight’s World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic.
While a three-man defence has been expected to be used, it is unclear whether boss Cesare Prandelli will go for a two-man forward line or a lone striker system.
The Gazzetta thinks Prandelli will opt for the latter, with Emanuele Giaccherini and Antonio Canderva supporting Mario Balotelli.
At the back, Roma ace Daniele De Rossi will be fielded in the middle of Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini rather than in his usual midfield position.
Fiorentina’s Manuel Pasqual could be handed his third cap on the left, with Napoli’s Christian Maggio fielded on the right.
Goalkeeper Gigi Buffon will equal Fabio Cannavaro’s 136-cap record at the Juventus Stadium this evening.
Italy will qualify for Brazil 2014 with a victory.
Italy probable XI: Buffon; Chiellini, De Rossi, Bonucci; Pasqual, Montolivo, Pirlo, Maggio; Giaccherini, Candreva; Balotelli.
