Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has admitted he is ‘optimistic’ that Andrea Pirlo will sign a new deal.
The veteran midfielder’s current contract runs out next summer, but the administrator is confident that the 34-year-old will sign on the dotted line.
“Pirlo? I am quite optimistic about his renewal,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.
He then commented on Italy’s match with Czech Republic this evening, that will be played at the Juventus Stadium.
“This is a city that has sport in its DNA. It is excellent not only for football, but in many other things.
“We want to thank the football association for bringing this important World Cup qualifier to our city.”
