“I will definitely watch the Derby,” Spurs star Lamela told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I wish all the best to all my teammates at Roma and I hope they win on Sunday. This season the club has formed a really strong team and I am sure the best is yet to come for the Giallorossi.”

Lamela’s departure for approximately £30m was a heavy blow for the fans, but his replacement Ljajic has made an immediate impact.

So has Coach Rudi Garcia, as Roma are currently top of the Serie A table alongside Napoli with a 100 per cent record.

However, there are fears Ljajic might not be able to start against Lazio on Sunday afternoon, as he underwent a personalised training session on Friday due to a left thigh problem.

Federico Balzaretti is also not 100 per cent fit, while Michael Bradley and Mattia Destro are still out injured. Gervinho is expected to be in the starting XI.
