Maran insists Catania still spirited

Rolando Maran has insisted that his Catania shouldn’t be judged on their performances from last season.

The Elefanti finished the 2012-13 campaign in eighth place, but having not win a game this time around, find themselves in 19th position.

However, ahead of this week’s match with Lazio, the Coach has claimed that things are going well behind the scenes.

“We should try not to listen to the criticism,” he told reporters. “Whatever happens we’ll do our best.

“Obviously we did well last season, but right now the spirit of the team is okay.

“I’m happy that we can welcome back the likes of Castro, Leto and Bergessio.”
