Emanuele Giaccherini has conceded his delight at scoring his first home goal for Sunderland on Sunday.
The Italy international joined the Premier League side from Juventus over the summer, and opened his Stadium of Light account at the weekend in a 3-1 loss to Liverpool.
“We were aggressive and we dominated the game,” he told reporters. “But after their first goal we lost our heads a bit and were punished again.
“It was a good game, but for the result. If we played it again I’m sure the result would be different.
“I am happy to have scored, but I would have preferred to have won the match.”
