The Beneamata, now bossed by Walter Mazzarri, have started the season strongly after finishing the last campaign in ninth.

By collecting 14 points from a possible 18 so far, the San Siro giants are being talked about as possible Scudetto candidates.

“The championship is very long and I think it is premature to say whether we can fight for the Scudetto or not,” said the Bosman signing from Napoli to Sky Sport Italia.

“I’m curious to see what is our true dimension, but it is too soon to be making proclamations. We’ll have to see further down the line.

“A lot of people say that championships are won in the spring, so we’ll need to keep giving our all and then seeing what position we are in at that time.

“Up until now, we have shown that we can play against anyone – even with those who ended last season at the top of the table.”

Inter have beaten, amongst others, Fiorentina this season and drew 1-1 with champions Juventus in Week 3.

“We have some excellent players in the squad and I’m sure we will continue to give 100 per cent until the very end.”
