Roma defender Maicon has admitted that his ultimate aim is to make the Brazil World Cup squad for next summer.
The full-back is currently injured and has stayed in the Italian capital rather than travel out with his national team.
But the Selecao international has conceded that he wants to be named in Luiz Felipe Scolari’s squad for the tournament.
“I am almost 100 per cent fit,” he told Lancenet. “I have resumed some physical work after being out for almost two weeks.
“I want to get ready for the game against Napoli that awaits us after the international break, however, I want to be in the group of players who take part in the World Cup.”
