Gian Piero Gasperini has admitted he will ‘never forget’ the affection that Genoa fans have shown towards him.
The Coach was named as Fabio Liverani’s replacement at the Grifone earlier this month, and the 55-year-old has revealed his emotions when he was in charge of Palermo last season, returning to the Marassi.
“That applause when I was sat on the Palermo bench,” he told the club’s official website.
“Wow. That was probably the most beautiful moment of my career.
“I will never forget that moment.”
Gasperini takes charge of his first home game since returning to Genoa this weekend, as his side prepare to face Chievo.
