After a summer of speculation linking him with a move away, reports suggest that Davide Astori could extend his deal at Cagliari.
The defender was constantly rumoured to be on his way out of the Isolani during the pre-season, with Southampton and Inter said to be keen on signing the centre-back.
However, Corriere dello Sport have revealed today that Astori will sit down with the Cagliari hierarchy over the next few weeks and try to negotiate a better deal.
The paper claims that President Massimo Cellino wants the 26-year-old to stay until 2017.
