“We need points and what’s up for grabs this weekend is fundamental,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“It is also important that we knock down this taboo that Chievo cause problems for Genoa at Marassi.”

Emanuele Calaiò is out of action and there are also doubts over Francelino Matuzalem’s fitness.

“It’s a shame about Calaiò, while we have to evaluate Matuzalem. As for Alberto Gilardino, we’ll do everything possible to assist him in attack better than we have been doing so far.”

This is going to be a very special moment for Gasperini, who returns to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris as Coach after three years.

“It will be emotional and wonderful to salute our fans, but we have to put sentiment aside for the moment, as we need to remain concentrated on the task at hand.”

Gasp earned a point on his comeback to the Genoa bench, a 1-1 draw away to Catania, after replacing Fabio Liverani.
