“I am not surprised by their position in the table,” said the Ducali Coach in his Press conference.

“Right from their opening win over Milan they set the mould for how they were going to approach this season.

“Verona are newly-promoted, but it would be reductive to say their only strength is enthusiasm. Their players have technique and experience, while Luca Toni has also rediscovered his verve. With all these ingredients, their position in the standings makes perfect sense.

“As for Parma, we must learn not to keep making the same mistakes and falling into the same traps. We worked well over the last two weeks and there’s nothing to suggest a negative result.”

Donadoni confirmed Jonathan Biabiany is not 100 per cent fit, while Daniele Galloppa, Stefano Okaka and Gabriel Paletta are injured.

Goalkeeper Antonio Mirante sits out a one-match ban and is replaced by 22-year-old Slovakian Pavol Bajza.

“Bajza trained as always with great focus and Parma believe in him. He is relaxed and has no particular tension, even though he knows he’ll start the game.”
