“I had become basically a family member for Martinelli and he was a close friend,” said the tactician.

“It was a terrible blow to lose him, as we thought he could win this final battle with his illness. It was a tough and sad year, though he took strength from the team and we did the same from him.

“Now that he is gone, we will continue to play for Martinelli, just as we always have done.”
